How the daily game works

Every day at 00:00 UTC Kartavera builds ten rounds from 152 independent countries larger than 20,000 km², plus the rivers and mountains of the atlas. Five are area pairs: two countries drawn at exactly the same scale in an equal-area projection, pick the larger. One is a population pair, where the same-scale drawing is a red herring. One is a flag: four flags, one country. One is a silhouette or a capital. One asks which of two rivers is longer or which of two summits is higher, and one which of two countries is richer per person or where people live longer. The rounds start easy and tighten toward the end, and every answer comes with the numbers and, when it is to blame, what the Mercator map does to them.

With a nickname, every finished day earns XP (more with a streak), a passport stamp for each country you got right, and badges — see them on your profile. Today's answers live in your browser. After each answer you can open the pair's own page to see the figures, and at the end you can share your result as a ten-square grid.
